Home Inspection Tampa BayThe State of Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation Division of Real Estate regulates real estate inspection services in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Orlando, Naples and all other areas of Florida. Its real estate inspector law specifies that persons may not use the title "certified real estate inspector," "licensed real estate inspector," or "registered trainee real estate inspector," or issue a home inspection report in connection with any federally related transaction, unless they are certified, licensed, or registered by the state department . Florida regulates home inspection services under 4 classifications of inspectors Each level inspector must successfully complete the specified hours of approved real estate inspection courses for their license class. - Registered Inspector Trainees must have 75 hours of classroom training and they must work under the direct supervision of a certified, licensed Florida real estate inspector.
- Licensed Inspectors are required to have 2 years of inspection experience in real property inspection and 90 hours of classroom training.
- Certified Residential Inspectors (home inspection) must have 120 hours of successful classroom training and at least 2,500 hours of experience achieve in a 2 year period.
- Certified General Inspectors must have achieved 3,000 hours of real estate inspection experience in a 30 month time span, half of which must be in non-residential inspection. They must have successfully passed related real estate courses involving 180 hours of classroom study.
