Ohio Home InspectionThe Ohio Department of Commerce' Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing licenses and regulates real estate brokers and salespeople, real estate inspectors, foreign real estate dealers and salespeople involved in home inspection. Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Akron, Canton and all other cities in the Ohio are under state jurisdiction. Below are the inspector classifications: State-licensed residential real estate inspectors must have acquired two thousand hours of experience in real estate inspection. That inspection experience must have been achieved within a 24 month period. State-certified Residential Real Estate Inspectors (home inspection) professionals must have completed 2,500 hours of real property experience in not less than 30 months of work.
