Home Inspection DenverHome Inspection in Denver is regulated by Colorado's Division of Real Estate. This government agency regulates real estate inspectors, salespersons and brokers in Denver and across the state. The Colorado Inspector Law and Board has established 4 levels of real estate inspector licensing: Registered inspectors, Licensed Inspectors, Certified Residential Inspectors, and Certified General Inspectors. Registered Inspectors: These individual have gained a minimum of 75 hours of inspection education including 15 hours of Uniforms Standards of Professional Inspection Practice (USPAP) and have passed the Level A inspector licensing exam. Licensed Inspectors: These inspectors have completed 90 hours of inspection education including 15 hours of USPAP; and have 2000 hours of inspection experience gained in less than 12 months, and passed the Level A inspector licensing examination if a registered inspector exam score report is more than one year old. Certified Residential Inspectors: (home inspection) These inspectors have completed 120 hours of inspection education, including 15 hours of USAP education courses and 2500 hours of inspection experience with a 24 month period. They must have passed the Level B inspector certifying examination. Certified General Inspectors: At least 180 hours of inspection education including 15 hours of USPAP, 3000 hours of inspection experience (including 1500 hours non-residential) over not less than 30 months, and pass the Level C inspector certifying examination. Although the Denver home inspectors have completed this extensive training and practice in the statutory areas, you should still inquire into their experience in home inspection.
